To mark Diabetes week in Bristol (7-14 June) Johnson & Johnson has teamed up with Bristol’s biggest Tesco store to run a healthy living campaign, showing how you can become ‘A Better You’.
From 7-14 June, visitors to Bristol East Tesco Extra (just off Junction 2 of the M32) will be able to enjoy a series of free events, including a live cookery demonstration from Antony Worrall Thompson. The celebrity chef will be whipping up recipes from his new cookbook The Sweet Life on Saturday 14 June (11am-2pm), showing just how easy it is to create healthy, yet deliciously indulgent food at home – simply by using alternative ingredients with less sugar.
There will also be guilt-free treats from Splenda, who will be handing out mouth-watering foods containing Splenda, a natural, non-chemical alternative to sugar – perfect for diabetics and those keen to cut down on carbs and calories. There will also be the opportunity to taste a number of Benecol products, which have been proven to actively reduce bad cholesterol. In addition, LifeScan will be running a campaign for those customers with diabetes to upgrade their old blood glucose meters to a new OneTouch® meter for free.
Throughout the week Johnson & Johnson, will be giving visitors to their display the opportunity to take advantage of free dietary advice and tips on recipe ideas, staying healthy and improving wellbeing. You can even arrange a personal shop appointment with a dietician to find out what products to introduce to your weekly shopping basket for a healthier ‘you’. Plus with 50 per cent off the cost of personal health checks, it’s a great opportunity to get a diabetes test as well as receive important information about your cholesterol and blood pressure levels.
Keep an eye out for the Tesco ‘A Better You’ display in the store car park, on show from 7-14 June.
